Welcome to the Pilates Studio, Scots Gap, Northumberland

Welcome to my Pilates Studio, here the focus is on offering you an exceptional Pilates experience tailored around your individual needs in a welcoming positive atmosphere. Staying true to the original Pilates method sessions are limited to a maximum of 3 people, offering you the best balance of individual attention and quality instruction based on authentic Pilates principles using a selection of genuine handcrafted Pilates apparatus.

Conveniently located in Scots Gap, Northumberland, down the road from the centre of the known world (aka Robson & Cowan) and less than 30 minutes from Ponteland, Morpeth and Rothbury, this boutique Pilates Studio is within easy reach of all locations east of the A969 and west of the A1.

Still not quite sure where we are? Well if you’ve been to Bolam Lake, the National Trust’s Wallington Hall, visited Rothley Castle or Hartburn Grotto you were less than 4 minutes from the studio!

Morpeth Pilates instructor, Sylvia

Meet Sylvia

The Pilates Studio is my home, I am, quite literally, the instructor in residence! A native of sunnier southern climes, I started my own Pilates journey following a serious motor vehicle accident. “Find a proper Pilates studio, one with real equipment.” little did I know, at the time that those few words from my specialist consultant at the hospital would be the start of all this. Pilates helped build myself in every way and being able to share the genius of the Pilates Method is to me the greatest privilege and responsibility.

Classically trained and certified as comprehensive Pilates instructor, I have a strong interest in how we can apply the principles of Pilates to our daily lives, our movement and our breath; movement and breath is life! I hold qualifications both within the spheres of Pilates and dynamic integrated movement and continue to deepen my knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and the physical and phycological benefits Pilates and movement have on us as individuals; movement heals.

I consider myself a student of life, and strive to deepen the connection into my own movement and practice of authentic Pilates. When not teaching classes or working with clients you’ll find me and my four-legged girls enjoying the stunning Northumberland countryside or helping on the farm, and don’t get me started about my dairy cows!

I am a Member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), the international professional association dedicated to the Pilates Method.
